La galaxie du Triangle, également appeléeM33, est une galaxie spiraled e type SA(s)cd appartenant auGroupe local et située dans laconstellation du Triangle. Sans doute satellite de la galaxie d'Andromède, sa distance auSoleilest assez mal connue. Les mesures actuelles donnent une distance allant de environ0,73Mpc(∼2,38millions d'a.l.) à environ0,94Mpc(∼3,07millions d'a.l.).

TheTriangulum Galaxyis aspiral galaxy2.73 millionlight-years(ly) from Earth in theconstellationTriangulum. It is catalogued asMessier33orNGC (New General Catalogue)598. With the D₂₅isophotal diameter of 18.74kiloparsecs(61,100light-years), the Triangulum Galaxy is the third-largest member of theLocal Groupof galaxies, behind theAndromeda Galaxyand theMilky Way.
