GC 5248 (Caldwell 45) est unegalaxie spirale intermédiaire  située dans laconstellation du Bouvier. Sa vitesse par rapport au fond diffus cosmologique est de1 437± 200km/s, ce qui correspond à une distance de Hubblede 21,2 ± 1,5 Mpc(∼69,1 millions d'al)^[1]. NGC 5248 a été découverte par   William Herschel en1784.

NGC 5248  also known asCaldwell 45) is a compact intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Boötes. Its velocity with respect to thecosmic microwave background is 1437 ± 20km/s, which corresponds to a Hubble distanceof 69.1 ± 4.9 Mly(21.19 ± 1.51 Mpc).^[1]However, 17non redshift measurements give a much closer distance of 42.52 ± 3.16 Mly (13.038 ± 0.969 Mpc).^[2]It was discovered on 15 April 1784 by German-British astronomer William Herschel.^[3]
